In 1870 Thomas Tudor, a wheelwright, founded the company and began by making horse
drawn vehicles. His two sons, Thomas and George, joined the company in the early
1900's and as horsepower gave way to mechanical power the business evolved into
coach-building bodies for motor vehicles.

Under Thomas Tudor (Junior) Robert Vernon commenced his apprenticeship in 1942 and
in 1970 following the death of George, the last remaining Tudor, he took over the
management of the company. By this time the days of the small coach-building company
were over and the majority of the work consisted of repairing accident damage to all
types of vehicles.

1976 saw Robert's son, Kevin, join the company. With his father keen to pass on his
many skills, particularly in the timber framed body construction, Kevin's first project
was a major restoration of a 1938 series 1 Morgan 4/4 which achieved success in concours
events. From that successful start, Kevin's interest continued to be the repair,
refurbishment and repainting of all cherished vehicles especially the Morgan sports car.
